I'm not an artist, I'm a software engineer 🎨 💻 These are my first two portraits after a long break from painting.I created ArtistAssistApp.com to help beginners gain painting skills and assist experienced artists in their painting routines.I tested the app myself and it works! ❓❓❓ How is this possible? A "YouTube Shorts" vertical video uploaded to a channel with 500 subscribers gets 10 views in 24 hours, but the exact same video uploaded to a TikTok account with 5 followers at the same time gets 500 views in 24 hours? There are no bots among subscribers on both platforms.🤔 Does anyone understand how this works?🤨 Is this already a new AI-based algorithm? Or with the new AI algorithm on YouTube there will be 1 view in 24 hours?

Software development is not rocket science. Programming is not difficult. I hear this often. But in fact, Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and Service Workers are as complex as rocket science! One of my projects received over 1000 stars on GitHub. And my reputation on StackOverflow reached 10,000.The project on GitHub began as an example for one IT event back in 2021 and then was improved several times.I became an active user of StackOverflow in 2020 when I decided to save my knowledge there instead of a personal blog.The only benefit from these “achievements” is that they served as an informational reason to write this post.

What’s more difficult: competing with well-known market players or being a pioneer in some new niche?My free painting and drawing assistant for artists ArtistAssistApp.com has no direct competitors. Sounds good, doesn't it? Not really. When there are no competitors, you can’t take away their users.A new niche means no popular SEO keywords. Users simply don't know that such a product exists and what benefits they can get from it. You have to be creative, publish a lot of content and collaborate with influencers and bloggers to let the world know about your product. This makes the customer acquisition cost (CAC) high.Only feedback from satisfied users suggesting improvements or publishing non-sponsored posts about the app motivates me to continue.

What is more difficult: software development or marketing?IMO marketing is harder.I don't mean managing social networks for an already well-known brand or running A/B experiments, but introducing a completely new product to the market.SEO, SMM, influencers, ad targeting, content writing and distribution. Taken together, these activities are more difficult and time-consuming than developing almost any software. Finding the right influencers is already a daunting task.Software engineers, if you afraid that AI will soon replace you, start learning marketing. There is no AI solution to bring a product/brand to the market for you. Or is it?In any case, you get the idea. Marketing experts rule!#marketing
